ABOUT US
We have been lucky enough to work in some beautiful properties across Lancashire and the surrounding areas. Here are a few recent projects highlighting some of services.
BESPOKE JOINERY SINCE 1986
For more than 40 years, P. Grayston & Son have been crafting bespoke, classic English kitchens and furniture in Lancashire’s verdant Ribble Valley.
A P. Grayston & Son bespoke kitchen is that rarest of things - a product that is both beautiful and practical.

All of our commissions are truly bespoke in every aspect, from the surfaces and details that you can see to the underlying design features that make your kitchen work without fuss or complication.
Simon is your sole point of contact at each stage of the process from consultation and design, right through to the making and fitting. He’s the only person you’ll deal with, ably assisted by his apprentice, Callum Fielding.
Our kitchens are built using an in-frame construction, where doors and drawers are seated in a solid timber frame rather than hung on a carcass. This creates aesthetic balance as well as integral strength and because every kitchen and every customer has different requirements, you can be assured that your kitchen is unique.
Materials, hardware and finishes are selected to be visually pleasing, durable and tactile.
European lime wood is used to construct doors and drawer fronts because of its stability, tight grain and resistance to moisture and temperature; they won’t warp, bow or peel in the heat of the kitchen.
Drawer boxes are built using oak and dovetail-jointed in our own workshop to ensure that they open and close smoothly for many decades.
Forty years of knowledge and skill goes into each and every kitchen and Simon isn’t happy until you are happy.
As we say in Lancashire, it’s a proper job.
THE TEAM
Simon Grayston
OWNER – Founder and master joiner Simon Grayston began as an apprentice with his dad, Peter, at 15 years of age. His enthusiasm for creating stunning, functional living spaces is infectious and he embraces the fact that every day brings different challenges and new opportunities to learn. Simon believes that being a true craftsman is a balance of problem-solving, vision, skill and adaptation.
When he’s out on his bike, Simon often sees the very first kitchen he designed and built in a local farmhouse more than 30 years ago. It’s still at the heart of that home and it still makes him smile.
